The Lunar Woman Workshop

NEXT WORKSHOP DATE:  To be announced

On this most beautiful planet there is nothing but misunderstanding in the roles of the Lunar Woman, Solar Man and their Relationships. ~ Shakta Kaur

Woman like the moon Woman is the like the moon. She waxes and wanes. Man is like the sun–constant, stationary, shining from dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn. Everything grows because of the moon.  Everything ripens because of the sun. And everything is conceived because of the combination of those two polarities of male and female, sun and moon. That is where the problem begins as well! Not understanding the basic nature of man and woman causes strife, pain and tremendous hardship. ~ SK

THE WORKSHOP

In this 3 hour workshop we will use the technology of Kundalini Yoga to teach that the essence of a woman is moon in quality and what the means.  Using simple meditations and Kriyas (exercise sets with a purpose), that can be practiced at home along with the teaching about a woman’s 11 moon centres we will create clarity about our nature as women.  Acceptance of our innate nature – ourselves,  becoming attuned to who we are in relation to environmental and universal energies,  diminishes misunderstandings and strifes between ourselves and our half sides — The men we love and the men we bare. An atmosphere of allowance rather that tolerance is created.  With allowance there can be joy and a prosperous life. The woman, understanding her own true nature, can live with the man, understanding his true nature, and both can be joyous.  Living in tolerance is living in tension.  We know how “they” are, but dont understand it and hate the situation — tension.  Tension is a bondage.

The Shambala Room is situated on the shores of Upper Lough Erne, 400 metres across the water from Inis Rath Island. Home of the Krishna Temple and community.  This lakeland area is a peaceful sanctuary where you can enrich your body, mind and soul.

Shambala room

It is 1 hour 40 mins drive from the start of the M3 motorway in Dublin, or the same drive-time from the start of the M1 in Belfast. For spiritual, holistic and meditation in Ireland, perhaps there is no more fitting and beautiful location as L. Erne, with its 154 islands – 5 of which were historically the sites of monastic communities from the 6th Century. On nearby Inis Rath there is a beautiful Krishna temple, and adjacent to Shambala Room is Lake Isle Retreats .

DIRECTIONS

Shambala Room is 12kms (8 miles) from Belturbet in Co. Cavan and 8 miles from Lisnaskea in Co. Fermanagh. We are easy to reach from the cities: you stay on the same road N3 (or M3) all the way up from Dublin to within 5kms of our retreat centre. And from Belfast, you’re on the M1 and A4 for 90% of the journey. Both of these two principal cities in Ireland are less than 90 miles (140kms) away.

From Dublin, or the South, take the M3 from Blanchardstown in the direction of Cavan. As you approach Cavan Town, take the third exit at the main roundabout following the signs for Enniskillen and Ballyshannon. After 14 minutes, you arrive at the Staghall roundabout on the Belturbet by-pass, and take 2nd exit here towards Enniskillen (You’re continuing on the same N3 (M3) road which began in Dublin). Continue on for 8km. Take a right turn at Teemore Cross. The sign says: Lisnaskea 9 – you are now in County Fermanagh and road-signs are in miles. Continue on this road to it’s conclusion, following the signs to Inish Rath Island. (Just before you come to Geaglum jetty there’s an Inish Rath 1/4 mile sign). Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath for 400 metres until you see the sign for Mandala House turn left for Shambala Room. Coming from the North (Derry, Donegal, Omagh) aim for Enniskillen. The road approaching Enniskillen is the A32. In Enniskillen, aim for Dublin on the Sligo Road (A4). A mile out of town centre take first exit or go left at roundabout following signs for Dublin. 10 miles South of Enniskillen you come to Derrylin. On the other side of this one-street village take a left onto the B127 towards Lisnaskea. After 3 miles look for the Inish Rath Island signs from here. The first sign will have you make a right turn off the B127. Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath until you see the sign for Mandala House (a white house on your right) turn left onto 2nd lane after white house for Shambala Room.

Coming from the Belfast and the East take the M1 which leads onto the A4 in the direction of Enniskillen. 12 milesbefore reaching Enniskillen look for the left turn taking you to Lisnaskea. On Lisnaskea Main Street look for the Spar shop and take right turn taking you towards Derrylin on the B127 road, which you follow for 5 miles. You cross over a first and then a second bridge over the lake (both bridges are approx 100 metres long). Take next turn left and follow signs to Inish Rath from here. Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath until you see the sign for Mandala House (a white house on your right) turn left onto 2nd lane after white house for Shambala Room.

Coming from the West (Sligo) aim for Enniskillen. Before entering the town take a right (or second exit) at the roundabout and aim for Dublin on the A509 (N3).
